The Bookkeeper sat in a chair that faced the hearth. As he watched the fire’s orange ribbons flirting with the pages of the book but never quite catching hold of them, The Bookkeeper recited the message he would relay to Dawn through the shadows, once he found her.
Hey,
What you just read there was the last paragraph of The Unmarked: Book One of the Purelight Stone Trilogy. Maybe you knew that, maybe you didn’t. Either way, every single chapter of book one of this three part series has been posted here on Substack for your reading pleasure. Which begs the question: what’s next?
Well, by remaining a subscriber to this publication, you can expect to receive occasional posts about the creative process behind this story. Insights into the people and places that inspired characters and settings, chapter playlists, visuals, and so on. You can also expect updates on where I’m at in the publishing phase of this first novel, and where I’m heading with Book Two. Who knows, you might even receive a surprise prologue in the next few months for the second instalment of this series.
In all, the whole experience will kind of be like Dawn getting a glimpse into the Realms beyond the Physical World. Except this publication is the Light Realm, not the Shadow Realm.
